Comfort food

Do you guys remember my very first blog post? If not, I'll remind you guys... My first blgo post was dedicated to Dauphine's because I simply adore this cafe so much! There is no better remedy to a bad day, than food. With that being said, I made a trip down to Dauphine's for an iced Foggy Queen and a late brunch!

Downtown foodventure!

I got up bright and early this Saturday morning and visited the City Market on 104 st, The Street Performers Festival, and The Hawkers Market. Yes! I went to all three events in one day! Lets just say I have the tan to prove this... But on a bright note, I finally got to satisfy my mini donut cravings + got to try tons of other neat food trucks! Of course, that wasn't enough... I needed to escape the scorching sun and noticed The Burg, so my friend and I decided to share a few appetizers because we were already full from the food trucks.
Watermelon and mint lemonade from Dauphine Bakery and Bistro
Sugar cookies from Confetti Sweets x London fog cookies from Blooms Cookie Co.
These fish tacos weren't that great (especially compared to Tres Carnales!)
The poutine was too salty
My friend and I both agreed that this was the best tasting dish, mac n cheese balls!

Best london fogs in Edmonton!

Hello everyone! This is my very first post and I'd like to mention that I have never written a review before, so lets hope this turns out half decent! So without further ado, I've decided to dedicate my first post to Dauphine Bakery and Bistro formerly known as Queen of Tarts. It is located in the heart of downtown Edmonton and what's unique about Dauphines, is that when you enter the bistro, you have to walk down a short flight of stairs, which makes it differ from its surrounding restaurants!

First, I'd like to explain that I am veeerrrry picky when it comes to my hot beverages especially when it comes to london fogs (and lattes). But Dauphine's london fog, won my heart instantly! The first few sips give off a tea aroma but then the after taste resembles white chocolate (as far as I'm concerned there is only milk and tea in most london fogs). There really is no other way to describe it other than it was the-best-london-fog-I've-ever-drank.
In addition to their divine london fog, they also have many great tasting pastries. Such as their white chocolate pistachio tart, which was creamy and not too sweet! And pistachio madeleines (I'm a huge fan of pistachios).
