Comfort food

Do you guys remember my very first blog post? If not, I'll remind you guys... My first blgo post was dedicated to Dauphine's because I simply adore this cafe so much! There is no better remedy to a bad day, than food. With that being said, I made a trip down to Dauphine's for an iced Foggy Queen and a late brunch!

Look at the enormous mug!

New favorite Japanese restaurant

In my honest opinion, I truly believe that 124th street has a few of the best restaurants in the city! Recently, a new all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant opened near the end of it! I've always been skeptical about Japanese all-you-can-eat places because I'm worried that the sashimi or other ingredients won't be fresh. But Watari is definitely my new favorite go to place! The food came out quick, the service was good, and most importantly everything tasted great! I eat a lot so what should have probably been a $200 bill, costed me $25 (per person/ I went with one other friend.). My friend and I nearly ordered everything on the menu, here are pictures of some of the food we ate!
I kept ordering more of these deep fried sushi rolls!
Aside from their all-you-can-eat menu, they also had a separate dessert menu which had their own price.

Cutlet house

While walking around downtown Vancouver, my friends and I discovered Dae-Ji, a Korean cutlet house. They had a few of their dishes out on display in the front window and our stomachs knew we had to stop by for lunch! The interior was adorable and the food was good, the portions were very filling and we could add extra things like egg or cheese for $0.99! The only thing that would prevent me from returning is the wait time for our food. We probably waited nearly an hour for our food to come out.
(I have no idea who that is but I thought the tree was really pretty)
Chicken cutlet
Fish cutlet (I highly recommend this one among the three)

The One

My visit to The One in Burnaby would make it my first time having Taiwanese food. Taiwanese food consists of deep fried foods mostly so if you're into asian cuisine and deep fried foods, you'll love Taiwanese food! But that isn't what brought me to The One, I heard about their famous "tall slush" and needed to get in on the hype! They have a huge selection of drinks and food so I will definitely be back to try everything...
Lychee
Taro
After drinking half of it, I got the rest packed up... it doesn't even look like I drank any, you really get more than what you paid for which is great!
Their chicken nugget fried rice is a must order!
Deep fried squid

Coal Harbour

Vancouver is a beautiful city but within this city, there are certain places you NEED to visit in order to see how beautiful it can get. Coal Harbour is one of those places and what better way to enjoy the view then over dinner? There are Cactus Club Cafes scattered throughout the city but this one was especially wonderful because of the size of the restaurant and definitely the view. I noticed that every restaurant I visited was always busy no matter what time during the day it was but this restaurant was extra busy, despite the size of it, there was a lineup but luckily we made reservations!
View from my seat
Peppercorn sirloin
Butternut squash + prawn ravioli
Calamari
Overall, this Cactus Club is a great restaurant choice for any occasion, especially dates because of the setting!

Another hot day in BC

If you ever get the chance to be on the coast, you need to eat seafood. No questions asked, why wouldn't you want to eat seafood when it's extra fresh there?! On a sunny afternoon, my friend and I decided to visit the Richmond location of Browns Social House, after going to temple. They have really good fish and chips and the interior of the restaurant is quite nice!
Half order of  the Fettuccine Carbonara
Fish and Chips

Belgian Waffles

Ever since I tried a Belgian waffle, I couldn't go back to eating regular waffles or "Eggo" waffles. Nero Belgian Waffle Bar, on Robson street of Downtown Vancouver has the best waffles I've ever tasted! The waffles are fluffy and you get to choose whether you want your waffle to be soft or crispy.
Mini waffles! Yes, I had to take some to go with me!
